Number of New Books Reached 78.500

According to the data provided by the ISBN Agency of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 78.500 new titles were published in 2020. This marks a 14,51% increase in total. 68.685 of these new publications were printed books, whereas 9.815 were audio or electronic books.

Educational books ranked the first among the published books, accounting for 28,2% of the books published. These were followed by adult fiction (20%), academic (19,2%), adult culture (14,3%), children’s and juvenile (13,3%) and religious books (5%).

Number of Book Banderols Increase by 2,3% Despite the Pandemic
In 2020, the number of book banderols reached 433.213.632, marking a 2,3% increase compared to 2019.
