The fifth of the "International Istanbul Fellowship Program", organized by the Turkish Press and Publishers Association and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which enabled many national and international publishers to come together, was held on 03-04-05 March 2020 at Grand Cevahir Hotel.

The opening ceremony of the program, which aims to turn İstanbul into a copyright center and promote Turkish literature around the world, started on Marc 3, 2020, Tuesday, with the speech of Mr. Mustafa Doğru, the chairman of Turkish Press and Publishers Copyright & Licensing Society (TBYM).

The Turkish Press and Publishers Professional Association hosted publishing house representatives, agencies and editors from all over the world throughout the organization, and more than a thousand preliminary agreements were made with Turkish and foreign publishers over the course of 3 days.

This year, 620 applications from 98 countries were received for the İstanbul Publishing Fellowship Program. All applications were evaluated individually by the Evaluation Committee of Turkish Press and Publishers Copyright & Licensing Society (TBYM) After this meticulous work by a team of 16 people, 300 reputable publishers from 70 countries were accepted to the program.

During the program, various seminars were organized to introduce the publishing world.

Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Board of Culture and Art Policies and author Prof. Dr. İskender Pala, İstanbul Deputy Governor Ms. Hülya Kaya, İstanbul Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Mr. Coşkun Yılmaz, İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Vice President Mr. İsrafil Kuralay, ITO Board Member and YAYFED Chairman Mr. Münir Üstün attended the opening event.

The İstanbul Publishing Fellowship program, which greatly contributes to the promotion of Turkish publishing around world, raised its targets every year and in doing so, it has not only inspired Middle Eastern countries, but alsosucceeded in making Istanbul a frequented place of publishing sector with participants from all regions of the world from Latin America to the Far East.

The Publishing Fellowship Program, which introduces Istanbul to the publishing world, aims to become one of the most prestigious publishing organizations in the world in the coming years.
